Implementation and Development of an E-commerce Platform for Liderwood
Liderwood is a company specializing in the sale of high-quality materials for building terraces and structural elements used in modern garden spaces. From the very beginning, the brand has focused on delivering products that combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability.
The company’s dynamic growth and increasing international sales meant that the existing e-commerce platform no longer met business expectations. Liderwood needed a stable, scalable solution to support further expansion across Europe.
That is why the company decided to migrate its store to Magento Open Source, entrusting the project to the Alekseon team.
Key Project Challenges
Migration from WooCommerce
The previous e-commerce platform was based on WooCommerce. However, as the store grew, several issues emerged that hindered further development:
- a large number of plugins responsible for key store functionalities
- decreased performance as the number of products increased
- difficulties integrating with external systems
- very poor Core Web Vitals results
Liderwood needed professional technological support for its international online store, capable of handling sales across multiple countries reliably.
Achievements
Dedicated Product Presentation
One of the biggest challenges was the specificity of terrace product sales.
Products such as decking boards or supports are often sold:
- in square meters
- in packages
- with various material conversion rates
We developed a dedicated module that allows products to be presented based on conversion factors defined in the admin panel. This enables the store to display any product in the most understandable way for the customer.
ERP System Integration
Integration via xSale with existing ERP systems required additional work and automation.
We had to adapt data exchange processes so that orders placed in Magento could be correctly handled by the client’s logistics and accounting systems.
Advanced Shipping Configuration
One of the most complex parts of the project was configuring shipping methods.
Different products require different delivery methods depending on:
- dimensions
- weight
- packaging
Thanks to the Amasty Shipping Suite Pro solution, we provided a tool that enables configuring complex shipping scenarios without developer involvement.
SEO Tools for the Marketing Team
The project includes SEO Complete Suite, giving the marketing team full control over:
- meta tags
- page indexing
- search result optimization
This allows the client to quickly respond to changes in marketing strategy.


Two Independent Blogs
Liderwood needed two separate content sections:
- a blog with educational articles
- a blog showcasing completed projects
We achieved this by duplicating the blog module, allowing both sections to be managed independently.
Excellent Core Web Vitals Results
One of the main goals was a significant performance improvement.
Thanks to:
- Hyvä Themes
- Hyvä UI
we achieved very fast store performance.
Just 14 days after launch, Core Web Vitals showed major improvements. In the following weeks, all metrics reached green levels on both desktop and mobile.
This directly translates into:
- better Google visibility
- higher conversion rates
- increased sales


Dynamic Contact Forms
The client wanted the ability to add various forms across the site.
With our Alekseon_WidgetForms module, it is possible to create forms such as:
- product inquiries
- quote requests
- contact forms
and place them anywhere on the site without developer involvement.
Product Sample Sales
Selling samples is an important part of Liderwood’s business, allowing customers to test materials before placing larger orders.
Using grouped products and minor frontend modifications, we created a view that enables adding multiple samples to the cart quickly.


High-Speed Search Engine
We implemented ElasticSuite, providing fast product search and advanced configuration options.
Terrace Calculator
We are currently working on the next stage — a terrace calculator that will allow customers to estimate the amount of materials needed.
This tool will significantly simplify the purchasing process and help customers plan their projects.
Multi-store and International Sales
Liderwood sells its products in many European countries.
Therefore, a key part of the project was enabling the launch of multiple stores on separate domains and in different languages.
Magento Open Source allows expansion into new markets without additional licensing costs.
Marketing and Analytics Integrations
The project was integrated with multiple tools:
- SalesManago
- Microsoft Clarity
This allows the marketing team to analyze user behavior and optimize purchase paths.
Hyvä Checkout
We implemented Hyvä Checkout, enabling a one-page checkout process.
This significantly simplifies the purchasing experience and allows easy future expansion.


Cart Sharing
We also introduced a Share Cart feature, allowing customers to share their cart with the sales team or others.
This is especially useful for large orders and construction projects.
Safe SEO Migration
During migration, special attention was given to maintaining Google rankings.
We used a site crawling process for both old and new websites to:
- map all existing URLs
- prepare a complete set of redirects
- ensure no important URLs were lost
As a result, the migration had no negative impact on search visibility.

Summary
The migration to Magento was a crucial step in Liderwood’s growth and created a solid foundation for further international expansion.
Thanks to the new platform, the store is faster, more flexible, and enables the client’s team to independently grow sales and marketing.
There are still many new features and development stages ahead, but we are confident that this collaboration will bring real benefits to both Liderwood and its customers.
